Terry Fox Day

École Crescentview School will once again be taking part in our annual Terry Fox School Walk on October 4, 2022.

Terry was a young cancer victim who lost a leg to cancer. He saw the pain and anguish of other cancer patients, and wanted to see it end.  He set his plan in motion to run across Canada, asking for a dollar donation from each Canadian in support of cancer research. It was his dream that a cure would be found.  Terry’s dream was cut short when his cancer returned and he was unable to finish his run.  Terry died in 1981, at the age of 22.

We have a goal to collect $3000 as a school to donate to the Terry Fox Foundation.  To do this we will be collecting toonies for Terry.  We are encouraging our students to bring in their toonies starting now until October 4th.  If we raise $1000, students will get 1 extended recess.  If we raise $2000, they will get 2 extended recesses.  If we raise $3000, select staff will receive a pie in the face from a student!

Alternatively, if you would rather donate online you can do so with our school link: http://www.terryfox.ca/EcoleCrescentview .  Receipts are emailed immediately and there is no minimum donation! Please don’t delay, donate today!
